• Ha Long Bay

Ha Long Bay is often covered in fog which reduces visibility. From March to May, sky over Ha Long Bay are usually clear, blue and temperatures are pleasant. During summer, from May to November, you can expect the best days to be warm and humid with refreshing afternoon showers. Winter, from December to February, can be quite cold. The best time to visit Ha Long Bay is spring or autumn for the best chance of warm days and clear sky, perfect for cruising.

• Sa Pa

Setting in the mountains of northern Vietnam, Sapa’s climate is very seasonal with average temperatures reaching 29°C (84°F) in summer and down to freezing in winter. Humidity ranges from 75% to 90%, but summer months are the wettest, especially July and August. The best time to go to Sa Pa is March and April for warm and dry weather or travel in October and November for cooler climes and clear days.

2. Central Vietnam (Hue, Da Nang, Hoi An)

• Da Nang

3. Southern Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh city, Mekong Delta)

The South of Vietnam has a tropical climate with hot, humid conditions which makes sightseeing in Ho Chi Minh City very tiring. The wet season is from May to November with June to August with the highest rainfall figures. December to April tends to be very dry. Average temperatures is around 25-30°C all year round with the hottest and most humid period from the end of February to May.

• Ho Chi Minh city or Sai Gon

Much closer to the equator, Sai Gon always has consistently warm temperatures year-round, with balmy days averaging around 28°C (82°F). This tropical climate is showed by wet and dry season. December to April is the best time to travel the south of Vietnam with dry season. The Mekong Delta can experience very bad flooding during this period making travel difficult.
